Help from those who have read "Frankenstein"?

I have to do a critical ysis of it, and I've chosen psychological criticism. But... Should I present the creature as Victor' unconscious, or as his own separate person, and take a stronger parent child approach? Either one would work, but which do you think works better with the story?
