Is it true that the more educated people of the US?

Apparently your friend is from a very 'uneducated' part of the country. The coasts have more degrees because they have more people. Is it really a shock that a state like California (population of at least 34 million) has more degrees than Kansas (population under 3 million)? Honestly degrees mean nothing because I know people with Doctorate Degree's who are complete idiots. Many socialist-progressives think that because the coasts have a higher concentration of people who think like them then they all must be pretty smart but the reality is you can only be so open-minded before your brain falls out and many of these 'Coastal Intellectuals' lost their brains a couple of degrees ago.
