Is my girlfriend pregnant if she had an indecisive pregnancy test and her period is late by almost a week?

My girlfriend has not been feeling good the past week or two. I told her she should go to the doctor to get things checked out and so she did. The doctor gave her a pregnancy test and told her that it came back indecisive. Since it is Friday, she can not go back until Monday to have her blood tests taken. It will then take another 3-5 days to get the results back. We go to college together and I just recently visited her over 4th of July. She was supposed to have her period this past Sunday, and now it is Friday, so she is about 5 days late. She told me that she has never been over a day late so I am very concerned and worried. She is on birth control, but her doctor just switched it because he said that her brand has been proven to not be as effective as other brands. The doctor told her that an indecisive pregnancy test could mean multiple things. It could mean that she is pregnant, ovarian cancer, early stages of alsers or cysts in her ovaries, etc. This is just killing me because we will not find out the answer for about a week, and I am so worried. This would ruin both of our college careers if she is pregnant. She won't take a home pregnancy test because she says she's too afraid to do it by herself. I don't know what else to do at this point, but just be stressed out and impatiently wait an answer. If anyone has experienced something like this, has any advice, or anything that will help give me a better idea of if she's pregnant or not, it would be appreciated.
