What should I do about my dad?

My knee has problems cause it buckled in basketball andwhen I realized it was bball I told my mom about it and my dad overheard and started yelling at me saying it's cause im on my lazy *** way to damn much... He's on a record and has gone a month without beating me... I'm 14 and 5'7" he's 37 and 5'11" I've left some of the time last time he went AT me I was gone till 12:30 pm and wouldve stayed out later if my mom didn't come find me so in short. He's an abusive piece of ****. What should I do about him...
