Why am I talking like this?

Ever since I moved to chicago from the UK, Im finding it more and more difficult to articulate myself well. I stutter, to a point where i mess up my whole sentence. I dont know why this is happening but its getting worse even though im trying to fix it. I sometimes think its the way americans arrange their sentences and im getting mixed up with it. Please tell me whats wrong with me.
